Job DescriptionA Medical Assistant in an ambulatory clinic setting provides care to patients with acute and chronic needs and performs imaging exams as permitted by a Limited Scope Radiographer. You will support clinical teams and maintain patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care: assist clinicians, gather exam data, take x-rays, process film, and distribute results.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in-person interactions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver quality patient care.
- Frequent interactions with providers, patients, and visitors requiring clear verbal communication.
- Use manual dexterity to handle delicate equipment and perform accurate documentation.
- Lift, transfer, and assist patients, bend to retrieve supplies, and manage heavy items safely.
- Navigate crowded clinical rooms and operate gurneys and portable equipment.
- Montana Limited Permit Holder and License from the Montana Board of Radiologic Technologists.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant Program or at least one year of experience.
- Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients and caregivers.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- National MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA).
- Frequent verbal communication with patients and providers, especially during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity and precision for equipment handling, documentation, medication preparation.
- Lift and transfer patients; bend, pick up, and carry supplies ranging up to heavy items.
- Walk, ambulate patients, and move supplies and equipment including pushing/pulling gurneys.
- Navigate through equipment‑dense, busy rooms and stationary standing for extended periods.
