Maintenance & Reliability Manager
Large-Scale Manufacturing | Expansion Environment
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead all maintenance and reliability activities at a large manufacturing facility undergoing significant expansion. This role owns plant-wide asset reliability, preventative maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement of machine performance while also supporting new equipment installation and process development.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building a high-performing maintenance organization, improving uptime, and ensuring equipment reliability in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all maintenance and reliability operations for a large manufacturing plant
- Manage and develop a maintenance organization of 50+ team members
, including 7 direct reports - Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Drive equipment reliability initiatives to improve uptime, throughput, and asset performance
- Support plant expansion activities, including new equipment installation, commissioning, and process development
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and reliability improvements for chronic equipment issues
- Manage and optimize spare parts inventory
, ensuring availability while controlling cost - Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Plant Leadership to align maintenance strategy with production goals
- Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance leaders and technicians, building strong bench strength
- Establish KPIs and maintenance metrics to track performance and drive accountability
- Ensure maintenance practices meet safety, quality, and operational standards
- Associate’s degree or higher required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Strong preference for experience in consumer products or high-speed manufacturing environments
- Paper manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Proven background in industrial maintenance and reliability leadership (not facilities management)
- Demonstrated success building, improving, and sustaining PM programs
- Hands-on experience with:
- Equipment reliability and uptime improvement
- Maintenance planning and scheduling
- Spare parts and MRO inventory management
- Project management in manufacturing environments
- Strong people leader with a track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing teams
- A visible, hands-on leader who can balance strategy with day-to-day execution
- Comfortable leading large teams in fast-paced manufacturing settings
- Experienced in driving maintenance transformation, not just maintaining the status quo
- Strong communicator who can influence across maintenance, operations, and engineering
- Lead maintenance and reliability for a major manufacturing operation in growth mode
- Direct impact on plant performance, uptime, and long-term asset strategy
