Concrete Finisher

Century Companies, Inc. is a highly reputable heavy civil, concrete, and asphalt paving contractor based in Lewistown, Montana. We are accepting applications for the following seasonal position.

This is a highly skilled position involving various manual tasks (finishing, forming, stripping, tying rebar, foundation preparation, etc.) associated with concrete construction.

• Finish wet surfaces to grade on all types of concrete work requiring a fine finish.
• Use tools such as float, trowel, screed, template, hand shovel, 10'‑16' straight edge on extended handle up to 15' long.
• Operate a concrete finishing machine.
• Maintain tools and equipment, perform minor servicing and maintenance, and refer major problems to supervisor.
• Understand all project requirements: edge slump, vertical face, pavement thickness, offset, consolidation, and surface appearance.
• Align and brace portions of project assembly, using bubble leveler, boards, nails, and hammer. Measure distances between columns with tape measure or laser sighting.
• Install outside and inside form panels using physical strength or pneumatic hoist; insert pins or wall ties through holes to support, lift, and position panels.
• Remove obstructions in grooves with hammer and chisel; patch holes, cracks, and joints using mortar and trowel or necessary tools.
• Fill forms or panels with wet concrete, then vibrate, screed, trowel, or prepare surface for proper settling and surfacing as described in plan.
• Top off, screed, or float top of wall with necessary tools.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary.

• 2‑5 years of experience required; ACI certification preferred.
• Must have own hand tools and boots.
• Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license helpful.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
