Senior Corporate Accountant (Salary: $85,000–$95,000 base + 7–10% bonus)
Sage Search Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant for a leading construction company in Lewisville, TX. In this newly created role, you will support operational units and sister companies within a shared services environment, driving accurate financial reporting and providing insightful accounting support in a fast-paced but rewarding setting.
In addition to being a CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure, the ideal candidate will bring experience working for a publicly traded company, strong general ledger and month-end close expertise, and a track record of being a proactive self-starter with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation and requests related to SOX compliance.
- Lead and participate in special projects and ad‑hoc initiatives to improve processes and support the broader finance organization.
- Manage key aspects of the month‑end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Prepare, review, and resolve complex account reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Record and review journal entries, including revenue and cost adjustments, in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Maintain and update the general ledger structure, including set up of new GL accounts and oversight of the Concur expense management database.
- Research and interpret financial data to respond to accounting and operational questions from internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification is a must‑have.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on general ledger and month‑end close experience, ideally within a publicly traded company environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with SOX controls and compliance expectations.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to learn new financial systems and tools quickly.
