Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Clinical Toxicology
Join Quest Diagnostics as a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Clinical Toxicology, located in Lewisville, TX, working Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM. This entry‑level position offers a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for external candidates, a pay range of $29.50+ per hour plus shift differentials of 10% for the second shift and 15% for the third shift, and eligibility for annual performance bonuses.
Department:
Clinical Toxicology. This role requires adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety guidelines. Shift differential details will be provided if an offer is extended.

Responsibilities
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
- Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s acceptable levels of performance.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred.
- Transcripts will be requested for review throughout the consideration process.
Work Experience
- 1 year clinical experience (high‑complexity testing) preferred.
- Experience with LC‑MS or ICP‑MS strongly preferred.
Physical And Mental Requirements
- Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds; assistance required for objects over 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods.
- Frequent walking and standing.
- Use of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments requiring significant manual dexterity.
