Job Summary and Qualifications

Every heartbeat matters—and as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, you’ll be part of the team that protects them. In this role, you’ll stand alongside physicians and colleagues to deliver advanced care during lifesaving cardiac procedures. From guiding patients and families through their journey to ensuring precision in every step of treatment, you’ll bring both skill and compassion to moments that improve more lives in more ways.

Assists cardiologist in performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Performs quality procedures accurately and in a timely manner. Operates x‑ray equipment, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies, and medications. Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed. Maintains safe environment for patients, fellow workers, physicians, and visitors. Supports and helps achieve departmental and hospital goals. The Technologist demonstrates an awareness of patient’s rights and works to ensure patient privacy, safety and comfort.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements.
  • Preparing and supporting patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures.
  • Operating and maintaining advanced equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment.
  • Monitoring patient responses with vigilance and compassion to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Safeguarding a sterile, safe environment while serving as an advocate for every patient.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or attain RCIS within 18 months of employment.
  • RT (R) – Registered Radiological Technologist and MRT license by Texas Medical Board.
  • RRT – Registered Respiratory Therapist and Texas licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
