Backend OTA​/Air Tester

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Backend OTA (Over-The-Air) Tester to join our quality assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, validating, and ensuring the reliability of OTA update mechanisms, deployment systems, and backend infrastructure that powers our device update ecosystem.

• Design and execute comprehensive test cases for OTA update delivery systems
• Validate backend services responsible for firmware and software distribution
• Test update rollout mechanisms, including progressive rollouts and staged deployments
• Verify database integrity and consistency during update processes
• Conduct load and stress testing on OTA infrastructure

• Identify, document, and track defects in OTA systems with detailed reproduction steps
• Perform regression testing following bug fixes and system updates
• Validate update rollback and recovery procedures
• Test edge cases, error handling, and failure scenarios
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for repetitive testing tasks
• Create test frameworks and utilities for OTA backend testing
• Build monitoring solutions to track update deployment metrics
• Collaborate on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline improvements

• Work closely with backend engineers, Dev Ops, and product teams
• Document test strategies, test plans, and test results
• Participate in code review sessions from a QA perspective
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders

• 2+ years of experience in backend testing or QTA (Quality Assurance)
• Strong understanding of OTA update mechanisms and device firmware distribution
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, or C++)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL, No

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of testing methodologies and test case design
• Experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, JMeter, pytest)

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with API testing and performance testing
• Background in IoT or device management systems
• Exposure to agile development environments
• Understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting
