The District Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall success of branch operations in designated multi‑site locations including full profit and loss accountability. Ensures branches operate with the correct fleet mix, staffing, coaching, training, operating systems, and customer service levels that achieve overall operations excellence to achieve positive results. Partners with support teams and executes on corporate initiatives and programs that promote a high‑level culture of safety;
employee engagement; and company growth.
- Leads, coaches, and drives performance of a team of branch managers in multiple locations in all branch sales and sales support functions. Sets goals and objectives for each location to achieve expected P&L results.
- Ensures that managers are trained in operating systems; product knowledge; leadership skills; effective sales and marketing efforts to operate successfully.
- Executes operations, employee and safety policies and procedures to support and promote a safe and highly engaged field operations team.
- Directs Sales leadership to set sales goals and objectives; set rates; deliver adequate product and sales training; coaching the sales team to grow the market and generate profitable revenue.
- Ensures that branch teams represent the company as a customer focused team and deliver best in class customer service. This includes ensuring drivers, service technicians and Inside Sales have the tools, training, and resources necessary to serve the customer.
- Work with cross-functional partners (Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Fleet Management) to ensure assigned locations are in alignment with the organization in all processes and direction.
- Uses reports and data to stay up to date on performance and make decisions that affect the branch operations. Report’s performance results to company leadership.
- Consistently and often travels to branch locations to ensure operational excellence. Meeting all employees and engaging on every visit. Including customer engagement at the branch and in the field.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent time management skills to include prioritization of tasks, communication, execution to meet established deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong leadership with excellent people developmental skills, lead by example.
- Strong financial acumen, including cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision making and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to assess customer patterns and adjust labor and branch focus accordingly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years’ experience in roles with increasing responsibility preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience supervising four or more management-level employees preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience leading in a multi‑unit work environment preferred.
- Experience in revenue generation.
- Analytical decision making preferred.
- Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis.
- Frequent travel, at least 50%.
- Work in outdoor environments.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
