Job Summary
Under direct supervision, serves as primary maintenance resource for packaging production operations. Contributes to ensuring safe working practices are followed and contributes ideas to simplify and standardize the workplace. Shares ownership in achieving world class performance and continuous improvement of production. Perform trials and tests for new products and/or packages for Site Operations or in support of the designated Cell area within the Manufacturing facility.
Responsible for assisting in the preparation, equipment set up, and execution of line trials. Documents test results as directed by the Engineering staff. Accountable for helping to achieve strategies and goals thru training staff within the Cell structure for becoming a world class, low cost/high quality producer of choice.
- Responsible for Material Productivity, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) using data from MKBS. Provide adequate training for Cell members, lead process improvement projects, and meet all defined production/quality standards and company KPI’s (safety, quality, cost and service).
- Monitors duties of production personnel within the Cell by leading and motivating team members, including temporary personnel, applying company leadership principles to ensure production quality and safety standards are met in accordance with MK Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Maintains workplace organization and cleanliness practices. Leads team building Kaizen events for problem solving using lean methodology.
- Assists with set‑ups, sanitization verification, daily startup, tuning, repair of packaging machinery in accordance with production requirements to ensure proper operation of machinery and supports other Production Line Technicians by performing changeovers. Follows safety precautions to prevent product contamination and injury to self and others.
- Documents successful equipment settings and test results to be used by Site Engineering and Operations staff in establishing their set‑up procedures. Success measured by achievement of established ramp‑up plan (time to reach line rate, staffing, and quality standards). Evaluates quality and assists in troubleshooting operational issues. Follows a defined trigger‑point system to ensure the appropriate level of urgency is communicated to management concerning production issues.
Interacts with various departments to expedite solutions to problems. - Contributes to the completion of activities and milestones associated with new product launches where failure to achieve results may have significant financial impact to the company. Communicates project status on an ongoing basis in corporate engineering meetings and to appropriate departments with associated involvement in the project. Assists Engineers with line trials by ensuring change parts are at the line, aiding in setting up the line with maintenance staff, performing trials, and resolving issues.
- Requires on‑site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Full‑time employment – 8 hrs/day, Tuesday–Saturday (40 hrs/week), 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

Experience: 5+ years.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to perform complex startup, debugging, and repairs of packaging machinery, as demonstrated by successful troubleshooting and problem‑solving techniques typically acquired through 5+ years of production maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and reference materials to interpret and apply Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; perform practical applications of mathematical calculations to solve specific mechanical problems; and use many types of equipment.
