Job Summary And Qualifications

Under general supervision the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with patient, patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of LVN’s and non-licensed nursing staff.

The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice. RN’s are responsible for providing care appropriate to the age-specific (neonates and newborns), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. The charge nurse makes patient assignments and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • RN - Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree
  • NRP must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire. No renewal required.
  • Minimum of 1 year Level III NICU experience required or completion of the NICU residency program.

Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center.
