Installation Technician

Southwest Solutions Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our team. As an installer you will install, configure, and maintain equipment and machinery for our customers. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent problem‑solving abilities, and a customer–oriented mindset. This hands‑on role requires independent work as well as teamwork.

  • Installing cabinets and casework for laboratories

Location: In Person

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Responsibilities
  • Travel to and from job sites in a company‑provided pickup truck or cargo van
  • Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or quality problems prior to installation start
  • Load and unload materials at the job site
  • Install, configure, and set up equipment according to client specifications and technical requirements
  • Perform onsite installations and ensure equipment is properly connected, calibrated, and operational
  • Conduct thorough system testing to verify functionality, identify issues, and ensure performance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools
  • Maintain a clean job site by removing trash and debris daily
  • Work cohesively with a team of technicians to complete projects on schedule
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, timelines and deliverables
  • Process expenses monthly through company portal
  • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and schedule maintenance through vendors
  • Other duties as required

Requirements / Qualifications
  • 2‑4 years of relevant experience in general trade as an installation technician or general labor
  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and DMV check required
  • Pass a background check and drug test due to secure sites
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10‑20% for out‑of‑town projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and specifications
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, belts, circular saws, etc.
  • Professional appearance and strong communication skills
  • Effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment
  • Microsoft Word and Outlook proficiency
  • Certifications such as OSHA, forklift, scissor lift, CPR/First Aid are a plus
Job Skills Electrical Schematics
  • Ability to read electrical schematics accurately and efficiently
Power Circuits
  • Experience with power circuits up to 480 VAC, 3‑phase systems
DC Control Circuits
  • Proficiency with DC control circuits up to 24 VDC
  • Familiarity with using a multimeter
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Hands‑on experience with Allen‑Bradley and Siemens PLCs, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Variable Frequency Drives
  • Familiarity with setting up, configuring, and diagnosing variable frequency drives
Metric System
  • Using metric tools such as tape measures, sockets, wrenches
Leveling
  • Ability to square, plumb, and level equipment
Computer Skills
  • Adjusting IP addresses
  • Pinging IP addresses in local area networks
Fabrication
  • Modifying and manufacturing wood components
  • Cutting, grinding, and welding metal components
Technology
  • Navigation of CRMs and capturing essential data
