Electrical Underground Superintendent supervises and coordinates electrical construction activities on job sites. Leads and oversees underground electrical construction activities to ensure work is performed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, applicable codes, and All Tech standards. Coordinates manpower, materials, equipment, inspections, and field activities while partnering with project leadership, general contractors, and other trades. When underground or excavation work is not available, this position is expected to support field operations by performing E4-level electrical work and other electrician-related duties as assigned.

Specific

Responsibilities:
Field Leadership / Underground Electrical Construction:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise daily underground electrical construction activities, including duct banks, conduit systems, electrical site utilities, manholes, handholes, grounding systems, stub-ups, and underground feeders.
  • Lead foremen, general foremen, journeymen, apprentices, equipment operators, and assigned field crews; clearly communicate daily goals, production expectations, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Review electrical and civil drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and project requirements before work begins and throughout construction.
  • Verify conduit routing, elevations, spacing, sweeps, stub-up locations, penetrations, equipment entry points, and underground layout before concrete placement or backfill.
  • Complete and execute all required excavation/dig permits, pre-task plans, JHAs, utility locate verifications, and other required safety documentation and approvals before excavation or digging begins; confirm requirements are current and communicate them to the crew before work starts.
  • Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead plans; identify manpower, material, equipment, inspection, and access needs in advance and communicate potential delays or constraints promptly.
  • Coordinate underground work with general contractors, civil contractors, utilities, inspectors, and mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and other trades to prevent conflicts and rework.
