Summary
The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's billing and collections processes, with a particular focus on third‑party billing platforms and maintaining accurate, timely customer accounts. This role will oversee the end‑to‑end receivables cycle—from invoicing through payment application—ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in reconciling complex accounts, preparing and analyzing aging reports, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and collections follow‑up.
- Manage billing through third‑party platforms and electronic billing systems, ensuring invoices are submitted accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor and analyze A/R aging reports, identify high‑risk accounts, and recommend appropriate collection strategies.
- Research and resolve discrepancies, chargebacks, and short payments in collaboration with internal departments and external customers.
- Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations, documentation, and audit trails.
- Partner with finance leadership to improve cash flow forecasting and establish process efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior A/R team members as needed.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
