Staff Accountant

Direct Hire | Onsite | $55,000 - $75,000

Vaco is partnering with a client in the Lexington area to identify a Staff Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys hands‑on general ledger work, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting while continuing to grow their career.

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end close.
• Reconcile bank, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Research account variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with audit requests and other accounting projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1+ years of accounting experience; strong recent graduates may also be considered.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and month‑end close.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting‑system experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across a team.

• Competitive compensation of $55,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
