Construction Materials Field Technician at ECS Group of Companies
No experience necessary. Paid training is provided, and certification fees will be covered.
Responsibilities- Conduct field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction material testing sites.
- Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
- Perform routine field and laboratory tests following industry standards and compliance.
- Calculate and reduce data from sampling, tests, and inspections; assist with drafting and other administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions and testing needs to supervisors.
- Assist in organizing field equipment and notify supervisors of broken or missing equipment.
- Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.
- Support for enhancing professional skills.
- Participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities, including OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, various State DOTs, WACEL, and others where applicable.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Willingness to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
- Willingness to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, including ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
- OSHA 10 certification may be required.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
