- Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling objects; sitting or standing for long periods; some work may be performed outside; may require operation of a golf/utility cart
- Shift: Sunday Saturday, with frequent weekend and night shifts; flexible scheduling around classes, typically about 10–15 hours per week
The Student Technician provides audio/visual support for events across campus. As an entry‑level position, the technician is trained in basic sound reinforcement, video production, and lighting principles and equipment. Dependability and a positive attitude are required.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate audio/visual equipment for campus events.
- Assist with sound reinforcement, video production, and stage lighting.
- Support event staff and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Operate golf/utility cart to move equipment as needed.
- Experience in sound reinforcement, video production, stage lighting, and computer use for presentations.
- Experience with live event production knowledge and customer service.
- Must be a current student at the University of Kentucky.
- Experience in sound reinforcement, video production, stage lighting, and computer use for presentations is preferred.
- Student transfers (federal work study) will also be considered.
- Customer service skills.
- Knowledge of audio/visual equipment.
- Problem‑solving and critical thinking.
