Job Summary

The Student Technician provides audio/visual support for events across campus. As an entry‑level position, the technician is trained in basic sound reinforcement, video production, and lighting principles and equipment. Dependability and a positive attitude are required.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate audio/visual equipment for campus events.
  • Assist with sound reinforcement, video production, and stage lighting.
  • Support event staff and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Operate golf/utility cart to move equipment as needed.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in sound reinforcement, video production, stage lighting, and computer use for presentations.
  • Experience with live event production knowledge and customer service.
Qualifications
  • Must be a current student at the University of Kentucky.
  • Experience in sound reinforcement, video production, stage lighting, and computer use for presentations is preferred.
  • Student transfers (federal work study) will also be considered.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of audio/visual equipment.
  • Problem‑solving and critical thinking.
