The Lead Worship Minister will serve the congregation of Tates Creek Christian Church by ensuring that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed in our weekly worship services, both in person and online. The role involves collaborating and coordinating with the Senior Minister to plan and lead worship services, selecting music and other service elements, and guiding the congregation through prayer, Scripture, and song.

The Worship Pastor will also lead volunteer groups and participate in church activities such as Bible studies, small groups, and outreach. To succeed, a successful candidate must possess excellent musical talent (vocally and musically), strong leadership skills to manage a team of musicians and technical support, a deep devotion to Jesus, and a commitment to spiritual growth.

• Lead Worship Services: lead traditional and contemporary worship during weekly services, special events, and other gatherings.
• Musical Selection and Arrangement: choose appropriate songs that align with church doctrine and arrange them to enhance the worship experience.
• Rehearsal and Coordination: schedule and conduct rehearsals with the worship team, including musicians, vocalists, and production staff.
• Spiritual Leadership: cultivate an atmosphere of worship, prayer, and spiritual growth among the team and congregation.
• Team Building and Development: recruit, train, and mentor worship team members to grow in their musical and spiritual gifts.
• Collaboration with Church Leadership: ensure the worship experience aligns with the church’s vision, values, and goals, and collaborate with the Senior Minister and other staff.

• Technical: oversee sound, lighting, graphics, and online streaming to guarantee all equipment functions properly and enhances worship.
• Choir: oversee the Choir Director and choir team; provide necessary items to deliver a full worship experience, including leading the choir when the Director is absent.
• Accompanists: manage paid accompanists, schedule time off, and handle payroll submissions.
• Stewardship: submit and manage budgets for the Worship Ministry, maintain instruments, tech, lighting, projection, and oversee the stage’s cleanliness and organization.

High School diploma required. Minimum 3 years of experience in a worship ministry setting.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent musical skills, proficiency in playing multiple instruments, and strong vocal abilities.
• Experience with Planning Center Services, Pro Presenter, and using multi‑track recordings.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and congregants of diverse backgrounds and ages.
• A collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Ability to give and receive feedback gracefully and openly.
