Job Summary: The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a full‑time hand and microvascular surgeon to join its academic faculty. All ranks will be considered. The faculty member will have the opportunity to teach residents, engage in research, and participate in clinical program development. The primary focus will be Hand Surgery, but other opportunities include micro‑breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, oncologic and traumatic reconstruction, and aesthetic practice.
Requirements include completion of a Hand Fellowship and eligibility for SOTH, plus ABPS board certification or ongoing certification. The ideal candidate will bring national recognition to our program at clinical, research, and educational levels.
Responsibilities:
• Teach residents and medical students.
• Conduct microvascular and hand surgical procedures.
• Lead research projects and secure peer‑reviewed funding.
• Participate in clinical program development and quality improvement.
• Mentor and evaluate fellows.
Qualifications:
• M.D. or equivalent degree.
• Completed plastic surgery residency followed by a hand fellowship.
• Board eligible/board certified in plastic surgery with SOTH credential.
• Valid medical license in Kentucky.
• Proven track record in hand and microvascular surgery, and in academic research.
