Job Summary

The University of Kentucky (UK) College of Nursing invites applicants to apply for this full‑time, 12‑month Clinical Title Series, tenure‑ineligible faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will also serve as the Director for the Simulation and Learning Center. It will be based in Lexington, KY, onsite, with an anticipated start date of November 1 2025 (no later than January 1 2026) and will remain open until filled.

This position will assist in the baccalaureate program, clinical simulation learning center, and the UK clinical enterprise, combining faculty responsibilities in teaching and advising with leadership responsibilities. The assistant professor will serve as the Director of the Clinical Simulation and Learning Center, teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate BSN students, implementing and evaluating didactic and clinical courses, planning and overseeing clinical experiences, and guiding BSN students in their professional development.

The role involves clinical instruction in designated practice areas and active participation in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Expertise in interactive and simulated technology, and collaboration with faculty and staff to incorporate such technology in nursing education, is required. Scholarly activity related to clinical service, simulation, and education is expected.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the baccalaureate program, clinical simulation learning center, and UK clinical enterprise.

  • Collaborate with UK Healthcare and community clinical providers, administrators, and staff.
Qualifications
  • Earned DNP or PhD in nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of BSN‑prepared professional nursing experience within the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of simulation experience.
  • Active Kentucky license as a registered nurse.
  • Experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
