This is a full-time, ten-month, term-contract faculty appointment in the Cybersecurity program within the Business, Computer and Information Systems Division. Bluegrass Community and Technical College is designated as a NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through the CIT program, the position requires flexibility of scheduling which will include both on-campus and online classes and is intended to fulfill our networking instruction needs.
Job Duties- Teach in-person and online instruction related to Cybersecurity.
- Maintain at least five in-person office hours per week.
- Advise current and prospective students for program and career-related counseling.
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
- Participate in department and college committee as assigned.
- Provide input regarding curriculum development and enhancement.
- Complete all required College and KCTCS mandatory trainings in addition to attending other professional development activities relevant to personal interest.
- Develop and maintain a working relationship with local industry.
- Enforce high expectations related to professional behavior (including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills).
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer field.
- Master’s degree in a Computer Security/Cybersecurity field.
- At least two years of teaching experience with both face-to-face and online formats.
- Experience with Blackboard and other instructional technology.
