Job Summary

This is a part‑time adjunct teaching position in the Communication, History, Languages, and Social Sciences Division. The primary teaching assignment is for the Bluegrass Area Campuses and is effective on a rotating basis. The position requires flexibility of scheduling, which may include evenings, weekends, and a variety of campus locations. These are temporary, part‑time, positions used to fill classroom vacancies as needed: days, evenings, weekends and/or online.

Job Duties
  • Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for special studies.
  • Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice in the particular area of instruction.
  • Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on students’ attainment and progress.
  • Maintains order and discipline.
  • Adjunct faculty will provide instruction in Criminal Justice courses.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field AND work experience in the field or Kentucky Law Enforcement Council instructor certification
  • OR
  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice AND work experience in the field or certification in the field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline of Criminal Justice preferred and at least two years of practitioner experience or field work is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the substantive areas listed with at least five years of work experience in any of these fields is required.
  • Must have experience with Blackboard and other instructional technology.
