Nursing Job Summary

Adjunct nursing clinical instructors are responsible for facilitating clinical learning experiences in a variety of area healthcare facilities for no more than 10 nursing students at a time. Responsibilities include acting as a liaison between the nursing program and the healthcare facility.

• Provide hands on clinical instruction and supervision of nursing students while in the clinical setting.
• Facilitate valuable learning experiences including use of the nursing process and clinical judgement.
• Assess and evaluate student learning providing feedback in a timely manner promoting student success.
• Facilitate development of clinical reasoning skills, professional identity, and use of effective communication skills while providing safe patient care in the clinical setting.
• Complete clinical evaluation of student performance weekly, at mid-term and final end of term.
• Participate in BCTC clinical instructor orientation and course specific faculty meetings.

• Associate of Science in Nursing with at least two years of clinical practice experience.
• Unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Kentucky.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with at least two years of clinical practice experience.
