About Us

LABBB Collaborative provides educational programming and support services for over 300 special needs students from over 65 districts. LABBB serves students ages 3 to 22 years old with a variety of special needs including students on the autism spectrum students with multi-handicaps pervasive development disorders developmental delays language deficits and social/emotional challenges. About the role

LABBB is hiring a Special Education Teacher (For Maternity Coverage) to work with students with mild to moderate intellectual neurological disorders and behavior challenges. The classroom is a multi-grade substantially separate classroom located at Lexington High School in Lexington. Emphasis on the development of social communication and behavior skills are thread throughout daily classroom activities. Candidate should have experience in modifying curriculum use of a variety of instructional technology and working with general education teachers to create an inclusive school culture and opportunities for students.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree Required; working towards Masters degree required.
  • Valid DESE License/Certification to practice as Special Education Teacher in Massachusetts (moderate special needs or severe special needs as indicated by your program) Candidates who are close to licensure who are eligible for licensure or who have a different DESE license and are willing to pursue the appropriate licensure will be considered.
  • Willingness and experience working with students with a variety of disabilities with a focus on social emotional needs who potentially present with mild to moderate behaviors.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a LABBB van during the day.
  • Working full time (35 hours per week) 11 months (school calendar plus required 4 weeks in summer.)
Responsibilities

Provide direct teaching services for children and adolescents in accordance with all applicable federal state and local codes and regulations for educational and school-based and implement goals objectives accommodations modifications service delivery transition planning and summary of student performance as needed for the IEP;
Attend IEP meetings to communicate results of evaluations/ re-evaluations goals objectives accommodations modifications intervention plan and type of service delivery required staff meetings; professional development trainings; and serve as appropriate on staff regular documentation including data collection progress notes individualized education plans formal and informal assessments and Medicaid billing as Teaching Assistants Support students development of independence social awareness language academic skills and appropriate and modify curriculum materials support and instructional strategies as necessary to meet students needs in the classroom and community with members of multidisciplinary teams including teachers BCBA OT PT SLP Counselors and Vision providers and implement treatment plans as needed or requested to support skill development generalization and transition planning across settings and throughout the LABBBs mission and core values as well as adhere to laws policies procedures and ethical standards of the field and contribute to a positive and safe school students personal care needs which may include activities of daily living (ADLs) such as communication toileting feeding transferring self-care and assistance with mobility including members may be asked to work closely with the Health Office and undergo additional training to facilitate delegation of medication in the community setting.

Salary

Range

$72457 to $133474 commensurate with experience and education.  Salary range is for school year and includes compensation for required 4-week summer program.
