Electrical EIT​/Coordinator

• Perform assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of electrical engineering techniques and procedures.
• Work directly with owners to develop recommendations.
• Review electrical documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
• Write and edit electrical specifications, select equipment, and electric devices.
• Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
• Perform routine electrical engineering assignments with instructions from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding expected results.
• Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Assist senior engineers on larger projects and handle small projects independently.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs, or technicians as needed to develop the project electrical design and project documents.
• Commit fully to HDR’s Values.
• Take active leadership toward safety.
• Perform other duties as appropriate, including contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.
• Make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed.
• Function as a Project Manager on small and mid‑size projects when required, though project management is not the principal focus of the position.
• Supervise the work of Electrical CAD Technicians and coordinate the design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain one. Candidates hired without their EIT license will be titled "Electrical Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• At least 2 years of experience designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects.
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.
• An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
