Our team is expanding, and we are now seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative VDC Technician to support our construction and engineering teams through advanced 3D modeling and coordination. This role plays a critical part in integrating design disciplines, detecting clashes, and ensuring constructability using modeling tools. The ideal candidate will bridge field operations and digital workflows, contributing to construction planning and execution with accurate visualizations and documentation.

This position will be based out of our Lexington, KY headquarters and require travel to job-site locations.

• 3D Modeling: Creating and updating detailed 3D models of electrical systems using BIM software
• Layout Assistance: Facilitate communication between field and BIM Technicians by reviewing field markups and ensuring all the information needed for modeling is being captured
• Model Coordination: Integrating design information from various disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) into the 3D model
• Clash Detection: Identifying and resolving spatial conflicts or clashes between different building components using clash detection tools
• Constructability Reviews: Evaluating the feasibility of construction based on the 3D model and providing feedback to improve the design
• Construction Documentation: Generating drawings, schedules, and visualizations from the 3D model to support construction planning and execution
• Collaboration: Working closely with VDC project managers, engineers, supervisors and construction PMs to ensure alignment between digital designs and on-site realities
• Supporting Project Teams: Providing 3D visualizations, clash reports, and other information to aid decision-making and project execution

• Basic understanding of BIM & VDC principles and workflows
• Sound understanding of construction methods and terminology, building codes, and industry standards
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret design information
• Problem-solving skills to address clashes and constructability issues
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage single tasks effectively and meet deadlines
