Key Responsibilities
- Assists in planning and coordinating geotechnical field investigations.
- May perform field work related to geotechnical explorations and/or construction activities, with responsibilities evolving as experience grows.
- Reviews boring logs and laboratory data.
- Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties under the supervision of a project engineer.
- Assists in executing detailed analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards during design and construction phases.
- Assists team in preparing designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.
- Supports multi‑discipline teams during construction, including submittal reviews, requests for information, and contract document clarifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methods.
- Ability to collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thinking.
- Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and related materials.
- Basic experience in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, Geo Studio, and gINT.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed for investigations, construction, and inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Preferred to have taken and passed the FE exam and to have EIT status.
- 0–5 years of experience. More than 3 years of geotechnical experience is preferred.
- Co‑op/Internship experience preferred. Typical office environment; field work may involve exposure to weather, lifting moderate equipment, and handling soil/rock samples.
- Additional duties may be assigned and responsibilities may change with or without notice.
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation is prorated based on hours worked.
