About the RoleWe are always seeking motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Interns to join our team. Bell provides students with a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in the planning, design, and construction of water-related infrastructure projects through mentorship with experienced engineers. Our interns work alongside licensed engineers, project managers, and our clients to support real-world projects that make a difference in communities throughout Kentucky.
Interns report to our Internship Supervisor, but will have the opportunity to work with multiple departments across our firm. Internships offer a flexible schedule to accommodate class commitments, and provide the potential opportunity for part‑and full‑time employment after graduation.

This is a continuous posting for our Civil Engineering Internship program. While we may not have an immediate opening, we regularly review applications as needs arise throughout the year. Responsibilities:
Assist with the design of water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems.
Perform basic hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
Support CAD drafting and plan preparation.
Conduct field visits and assist in site assessments, inspections, and data collection.
Help with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
Collaborate with engineers on environmental permitting and regulatory compliance tasks.
Education/
Experience:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
Strong interest in water resources and environmental infrastructure.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS or similar software.
Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrology, and stormwater systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to conduct themselves professionally at all times.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
