A growing construction company in Lexington, KY is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong background in construction accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement. The Controller will work closely with company leadership, manage one accounting team member, and independently handle day‑to‑day financial responsibilities.

• Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic decision‑making.
• Manage project accounting, job costing, and cost tracking for construction projects.
• Supervise and mentor one accounting staff member.
• Handle ad‑hoc financial projects and adapt to a fast‑paced work environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
• Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant, ideally within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Must be local to Lexington, KY and able to work fully on‑site.
