FULL-TIME HOURLY (FT):
These employees work from 30 to 40 hours each week and are paid on an hourly basis. They are eligible for the same benefits as salaried employees and paid time off is paid at 8 hours per day.
PART-TIME (PT):
These employees work between 20 and 30 hours each week and are paid on an hourly basis. These employees are eligible for certain benefits based on their average hours and paid time off is paid on a prorated basis.
JOB SUMMARY
Professionally and effectively assists customers and potential customers with a variety of banking transactions, inquiries, and other banking services from both the Teller counter and desk side.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of previous customer service experience in a retail environment or equivalent sales experience preferred
- Teller experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, follow-up and selling skills
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Ability to lead others in sales and service
- Knowledge of banking products and services preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs Teller duties:
Receives deposits for all deposit accounts, verifies cash and endorsements, and issues receipts; cashes checks and pays out cash upon verification of signature and customer balances within limits set forth; places holds on accounts for uncollected funds, and pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signatures; gathers conductor information when necessary under Bank Secrecy Act guidelines.Functions as a sales leader within the banking center, selling bank services to existing and potential customers, referring customers and potential customers to Central Investment Center, Trust Department/Wealth Management, Central Insurance Services, and Central Mortgage Center as appropriate, and promoting and encouraging teller referrals and sales. Works closely with management to identify potential sales opportunities and assists with business development activities.
Develops and maintains relationships with Central Bank business partners (Commercial Lending, Mortgage Lending, Wealth Management, CIC, and CIS) to maximize sales opportunities and achieve integration income goals.Opens and closes personal and non-personal accounts depending on level of training acquired, providing accurate documentation to the appropriate departments. (Must adhere to training curriculum to become fully functional in this role within the first 90 days after initial training period)Establishes, retains and deepens relationships with current and potential bank customers to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service. Provides broad base of financial and credit services with the goal of acquiring all of the existing or potential customer's business. Uses profiling analysis tool to identify cross-sale opportunities and makes outbound telephone calls in order to satisfy customer needs.Answers incoming telephone calls, greets customers, maintains records, compiles and prepares administrative reports, orders banking center supplies, and distributes all mail within banking center. Orders all checks, deposit slips, and endorsement stamps, and issues counter checks and deposit slips.Performs quarterly audits on tellers, official check logs, the collateral vault and other various documented items to maintain internal controls within the banking center detailed in the Banking Center Self-Audit Guide.Assists in the process of consumer lending by taking and entering consumer loan applications. Receives mortgage, installment loan, credit card, PEL, or any other payments, after checking the amount and due date.Generates account maintenance (title changes, address changes, stop payments, etc.) of any Central Bank account as requested by customers.Rents and releases safe deposit storage boxes, maintains vault entry log, audits lease agreements and entry cards, and insures customers are billed annually. Sells gift cards to customers and maintains records of supplies and sales for balancing purposes.Opens and closes banking center in a safe and secure manner. Ensures courier bag is prepared for daily run.Performs as a back-up CVT as required, may also perform full CVT duties depending on branch cash demands and technology utilized at the banking center (for example, cash recyclers).May train new Tellers/CSRs; mentors new staff members.Assists with ATM balancing.Must score at least 85% on Product Knowledge test annually; if applicant does not have a current score they must take and pass the Product Knowledge Exam within 90 days of starting the position.Perform other duties as…
