Clinical Pharmacist

As our Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll help doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients recover. You will review prescriptions for drug interactions, correct dosing, allergies, and other potential issues.

• Document clinical activities and interventions (consults, patient teachings, etc.) as defined by policy and procedure.
• Interpret medication orders for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection, and appropriateness; accurately enter/verify the order into the system, label, and dispense medications promptly.
• Verify and check medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
• Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals; resolve drug-related problems by consulting with other health care professionals.
• Clarify unclear orders written by a licensed provider and assist in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
• Provide basic clinical services for all age groups served, maintaining an adequate knowledge base.
• Maintain a working knowledge of automated systems.

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, upon hire, or Doctor of Pharmacy, upon hire.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support certification.
