Responsibilities The Nuclear Medicine Tech is a healthcare specialty that requires a keen interest in computer technology and using radioactive medicine to treat disease. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized professional who works closely with the nuclear medicine physician, which involves the following: preparing and administering radioactive chemical compounds, performing patient-imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instruments, accomplishing computer processing and image enhancement;also analyzing biologic specimens in the laboratory, as well as providing images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation as well as assisting in developing an appropriate care plan for each patient. Requirements
- 1+ year of recent experience in this setting
- Valid professional license or registration if required by this state
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be required
- Valid ARRT or ARDMS Credentials per your discipline
- Specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required
