Physical Requirements:
May require standing or sitting for > 5 hrs at a time.
Shift Varies. Satellite is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Provides coverage for days off and vacation leaves. Shifts may include Weekdays: 7am 3:30pm, 9:30am 6pm, 2pm 10pm, 10pm 8am;
Weekends: 7am
-3:30pm, 11am 7pm, 7pm-7am.
Job Summary:
In this position the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients admitted to the UK Health Care Kentucky Children's Hospital.
- Reviewing and perfecting medication orders.
- Reviewing drug profiles to ensure appropriateness of therapy.
- Contacting and conferring with physicians and other practitioners to optimize medication therapy.
- Actively participating in all aspects of the medication reconciliation process and promotion of economically conscientious use of medication.
- Daily activities may include active participation on patient care rounds, review of patient profiles, and provision of pharmacokinetic evaluation of therapeutic regimens.
- Knowledge of inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Hospital Experience preferred.
- Pediatric Pharmacy Experience highly preferred.
