National Pharmacy Technician Certification through either PTCB or ExCPT with CPhT designation and registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire or on day one if previously registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy as a technician.

This position may require sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Must also be able to reach above or below waist level. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Shifts may vary depending on location. Hours and days of week subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Requires occasional holiday and weekend rotations are part of the shifts. Number of hours scheduled per week may vary. Potential shifts and locations available will be discussed during the interview.

Assists pharmacists in medicine preparation and distribution for the Retail Pharmacies operating under University of KY Pharmacy Services. Fills and dispenses prescriptions in a busy retail based setting. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

• Retail and/or Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required.
• Hired candidate must maintain licensure as CPhT from PTCB/ExCPT during employment in this position.
• Minimum hourly rate $18.50/hour, all pay rates based on experience.
