The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing patient arrivals, patient registration, resolution of patient complaints, collection of patient‑responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co‑insurance, self‑pay estimates), maintaining HIPAA compliant and complying with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality, and participating in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Customer service oriented
  • Patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook皆 laŭ PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, critical thinking, follow‑through, planning, and organizational skills
  • High level of respect for confidentiality

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No

Preferred Education/

Experience:

4 years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient scheduling highly preferred.
