Responsibilities
Follow the standard work procedures of the CHI National Environmental Services Program to ensure a clean, safe, and aseptic environment within the hospital. The Environmental Services Tech demonstrates a positive image through good communication, courteous, and professional behavior towards customers, including staff, patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information encountered, including HIPAA compliance and adherence to corporate compliance guidelines.
Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating cooperation and adherence to the Standards of Conduct policy.
Follow infection prevention practices, complying with regulations, recommendations, and standards of regulatory agencies, while executing the CHI EVS Standard Work.
Handle, dispose, and package pharmaceutical waste, hazardous materials, and bio-hazardous waste in accordance with RCRA and other regulations. This includes participating in education on waste management, identifying proper waste streams, responding to hazardous chemical or pharmaceutical releases, and contacting emergency response when necessary.
Perform routine cleaning procedures including waste collection, linen management, dusting, light bulb and lens cleaning, curtain and window cleaning, surface disinfection, restroom maintenance, stocking supplies, wall and floor cleaning, and specialized cleaning such as terminal or isolation cleaning. Also includes handling regulated waste and performing non-routine floor care tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
PREFERRED Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Pay Range
$15.00 - $21.47 per hour
