The University of Kentucky, Office of the Vice President for Student Success is seeking a Division Payroll Specialist to assist with human resources and payroll support. This position reports to the Lead Payroll Specialist in the Student Success Business Office and serves more than 400 staff and 1,500+ student employees within the Office for Student Success.
Primary Responsibilities- Create hiring proposals and onboard new employees.
- Off-board staff and students.
- Process payroll actions and review payroll data.
- Create and review reports associated with employee compensation.
- Coordinate with various University entities to ensure payroll requests are processed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Team to stay abreast of HR and payroll policy updates, assist in fulfilling team goals, and cover responsibilities of colleagues as needed.
- Adaptable to changes with exceptional customer service orientation.
- Strong verbal and written communication, listening, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with individuals and groups.
- Independent work ability within a team environment.
- Technical proficiency in SAP and Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of UK business regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with SAP.
