This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.
Responsibilities- Monitor and inspect the job site for health and safety compliance, identifying any potential hazards that may result in injuries or accidents.
- Implement all proper safety and health policies onsite, discussing any issues with the project manager, contractor, and other safety professionals.
- Provide health and safety training and information to all employees onsite to ensure that site safety requirements are being met at all times.
- Establish and manage a jobsite safety culture in accordance with Gray’s safety program.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring of new site safety team members on your assigned project.
- Review, evaluate and make determinations on contractor site safety programs.
- Mentor contractors to help assure compliance with Gray guidelines.
- Maintain owner and Gray specified safety records. Assist in developing project specific site safety plans and an emergency response plan.
- Confers with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health and safety (or similar) and a minimum of 5 years of related construction safety experience or training OR a minimum of 5–10 years of related construction safety experience or training.
- Possess leadership skills that help cultivate a cohesive and successful team.
- Light/heavy industrial construction experience.
- Ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and related tools.
- NCSO and Advanced First Aid qualifications are desirable.
This position is travel-intensive due to project locations across the United States and abroad. The selected candidate can reside anywhere in the USA and will travel to project sites per Gray’s travel policy.
