Hydraulic Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on disassembling, diagnosing, rebuilding, and testing heavy-duty hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, and related powertrain components used in mining and construction equipment. You will apply strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical skills to ensure components operate safely, efficiently, and reliably after remanufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble heavy-duty hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, and related powertrain components for detailed inspection and evaluation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues using schematics, blueprints, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Rebuild and assemble hydraulic components to precise specifications, ensuring proper fit, function, and reliability.
  • Test repaired and rebuilt hydraulic units using appropriate test stands, gauges, and diagnostic tools to verify performance.
  • Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and blueprints to guide disassembly, repair, and reassembly processes.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively during all stages of repair and assembly.
  • Document findings, repairs, and test results accurately to support quality control and traceability requirements.
  • Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout the remanufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve complex technical issues and improve repair methods.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience working with hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, cylinders, and related powertrain components.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and mechanical tools for disassembly, repair, and assembly of heavy equipment components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Basic electrical knowledge to understand and work with components that integrate hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Capability to perform assembly and reassembly tasks with attention to detail and adherence to specifications.
  • Comfort working with heavy-duty mining and construction equipment components in a remanufacturing environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
