Physical RequirementsThe essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods. Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments is possible.
ScheduleMust work a variety of shifts, a minimum of 36 hours each month with some holiday coverage required.
Job SummaryThis position serves as a part-time Registered Nurse for a 32-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Unit in Tower 8.100 of Pavilion
A. Primary patient conditions include heart and lung transplantation, post open‑heart/cardiovascular surgery, and general cardiology. As a team member, the RN provides continuous monitoring and rapid response to chronic and emergent medical problems.
The RN provides total, comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered care: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to university policies, federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians enhance communication and improve patient outcomes.
