Pay Range

Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000

Job Summary

The National Trainer – Sales is responsible for implementing Retail Sales Associate (RSA) training programs with Account Managers (AM) and Field Sales Consultants (FSC) throughout the United States. The role develops and coaches field sales team members (FSCs & TMs) on effective door‑call management, gaining RSA advocacy, group presentation skill development, and one‑on‑one interaction effectiveness. Effectively communicates the overall Tempur Sealy sales training message.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Training Delivery & Facilitation
  • Coach FSCs and AMs on how to demonstrate and train Tempur Sealy products, using the EASi methodology (adult learning principles) to emphasize features, benefits, and core retail processes.
  • Facilitate Product Launch Certification summits with FSCs, AMs, and other key internal sales personnel to build functional excellence in training.
  • Lead large customer training events and support sales events (e.g., Buying Group shows, National Sales Conferences), with primary emphasis on new product launch support.
  • Assist in the design of training sessions for maximum retention and future behavior change.
Training Strategy & Content Development
  • Provide feedback on sales and product training materials to align with field needs, including input into the Tempur Sealy eLearning platform (the snooz).
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Tempur Sealy’s brand portfolio, product features, benefits, and specifications.
Performance Measurement & Coaching
  • Collaborate with RSDs to support retail training success, including TSi representative ride‑along to evaluate and develop training acumen (facilitation, EASi execution, planning, etc.).
  • Communicate recaps of field ride‑along to RSDs and FSMs, highlighting presentation skills, training message delivery, and coaching opportunities. Track the effectiveness of sales training and adoption within the assigned division, using established sales metrics and goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key sales and training personnel, measuring sales results pre‑ and post‑training.
Operational Expectations
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the retail industry, including evenings, weekends, and multi‑day work schedules.
  • Follow all Tempur Sealy company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, or BS) from a four‑year college or university is preferred
  • 4‑6 years of related training and sales experience
  • Strong understanding of retail floor environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. Must be able to learn internal company systems effectively.
  • This position may require upwards of 50% overnight travel, including weekends and evenings. Travel is often clustered around major product launches and key training events, requiring flexibility and commitment. Overnight travel may extend to 3‑4 nights and occasionally include holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays to support retail customer needs and ensure timely training delivery.
  • The National Trainer – Sales ideally resides within the division’s geographic area.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Driving is required for this position. A current driver’s license is required without restriction for night driving.
