Demeetra is seeking a highly motivated Cell Line Development & Upstream Processing Scientist to join our fast-paced team advancing next-generation gene editing technologies in bioproduction. This role is designed for someone who is eager, hands‑on, detail‑driven, and experienced enough to contribute with minimal onboard training. The successful candidate must be driven by a culture of excellence and ready for intense, high‑expectation, hands‑on CLD workflows
, bringing industry experience that enables them to contribute at a high level from day one, ideally in a CRO or CDMO setting.
You will be a key contributor in developing engineered CHO cell lines and optimizing upstream processes that support Demeetra’s cutting‑edge gene editing platforms. This position is not for recent graduates; ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years of direct industry experience
, preferably from a CDMO or CLD environment
, and are eager to take ownership of experimental design, workflow execution, and timeline‑driven deliverables.
- Execute CHO cell culture processes across shake flasks, spin tubes, and deep‑well plate fed‑batch formats
- Perform transfection, selection, clone screening, and single‑cell cloning workflows
- Support upstream development with high attention to process consistency and data integrity
- Run titer and basic downstream quality assays to assess productivity and cell‑line performance
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement advanced gene‑editing technologies in CLD
- Contribute to workflow design, documentation, and continuous process improvement
- Maintain a culture of excellence, accountability, and meeting or exceeding timelines
- BS in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field required (MS/PhD a plus but not required)
