Fitness Trainer

Job Summary

Fitness Trainer role at Midwest Fitness Partners.

The Fitness Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

• Recruiting new and existing members to take classes.
• Logging classes after each session.
• Actively assisting members on walk‑arounds.
• Cleaning assigned section of equipment each shift.
• Conducting locker room checks every 15 minutes, at the beginning and end of shift.
• Be a brand ambassador by leading a judgment‑free lifestyle.
• Uphold rules and policy in the facility.
• Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
• Create bi‑weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist in front‑desk activities such as:
• Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with a variety of questions.
• Checking members into the system.
• Processing new member sign‑ups.
• Taking prospective members on tours.
• Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevate to assistant manager or manager as needed.

• Fitness instructors must be trained on tours, info calls, Datatrak, customer service expectations and complete the mandatory Planet Fitness University courses.

• High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Nationally credited training certification required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays; flexibility is required.

• Continual standing and walking during shifts.
• Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
• Ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, pulling, and grasping; never put themselves under any equipment.
