Job Summary
The Tripp Operator is responsible for running equipment on the rail to remove and replacing ties.
Major Responsibilities- Run heavy equipment on the rail
- Remove railroad ties
- Replace railroad ties
- Help out with rail work as needed
- Maintain various hand tools for assigned work
- Maintain equipment
- Ensure railroad right-of-way is clear
- Ensure a safe working environment
- Class A CDL a plus to haul equipment
- Up to 12 hour shifts
- On the road job up to 8 nights at a time
- Outdoor work in various types of weather and environmental conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and more at times
- Relevant work experience in similar working conditions or regulatory and safety environment
- Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery, specifically a Trip machine
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Railroad knowledge and experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must meet all medical fitness for DOT Medical Card
- Must be a team player
- Welding skills a plus
- Mechanic skills a plus
- Valid Class A CDL a plus
