Light Duty Tow Truck Driver (Wheel Lift)

Guardian Fleet Services is seeking a Light Duty Tow Truck Driver to operate a commercial towing and recovery vehicle with a GVWR rating of less than 25,999 lbs. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle and tow combination.

$1,500 Sign on Bonus in State and $2,500 Sign on Bonus Out of State.

• Drive and operate a commercial towing and recovery vehicle for towing, recovery, and transport assignments.
• Perform daily vehicle inspection sheets and identify any mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety requirements, DOT rules, and regulations.
• Report mechanical issues with trucks and trailers immediately upon discovery.
• Work interstate as required and coordinate closely with Dispatch.
• Use company software and technology such as Samsara, GPS, and Towbook.
• Maintain a reliable, professional demeanor and provide strong customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Relevant trade school accreditation in Towing, Recovery, or Transport.
• At least two (2) years of commercial driving experience.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use tools.

• Proficiency in speaking, writing, and communicating in English.
• Ability to communicate calmly and effectively.
• Basic technology skills – use of GPS, company software, and mobile devices.
• Effective time management skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting work, hours, and information.

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor environments that may involve extreme cold or heat. The noise level is moderately loud. Must lift over 50 lbs and work with hydraulic oils, motor oils, antifreeze, and diesel fuels. No lifting restrictions or fear of heights. Must be able to sit, stand, lay on ground, bend over, and move intermittently.
