Prepares working plans, detailed drawings, and completed mechanical or electrical drawings of printed circuit (PC) board components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions, and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes. Makes engineering computations, write specifications, and make adjustments in drawings and specifications; verifies completed design elements, checks dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities.
The Rapid Prototyping Group seeks a hands-on and broad-background PC Board Designer with significant experience in the design, modelling, and fabrication of PC Boards for novel payloads. The individual must have a deep understanding of Mil spec components, latest software and hardware tools, and best practices for layout, design, fabrication, integration & testing of a variety of PC Boards within a system.
The designer must be able to interact with a number of subject matter experts in a collaborative team to develop complex sensor systems on a variety of platforms.
A Senior Circuit Board Designer is needed to perform a variety of design drawing tasks including RF/chip & wire PCB design, Rigid-flex PCB, and various advanced electrical designs for aircraft-based systems.
The position will require working with engineers to accumulate all documentation of critical system components, requirements, environmental constraints, estimated size, weight and power, and schedule. This critical system component information will be used to generate custom printed circuit board design files and drawings that can be reviewed and changed by program team leads and managers. Once the custom PCB designs and drawings are approved, the designs will be manufactured and integrated at the system level.
The individual will need to generate complete electrical drawing packages to support the component procurement, PCB/MCM/substrate fabrication, assembly, and electrical inspection to insure accuracy and completeness of each design prior to system integration and test.
