Project Manager – Information Technology
Aquila Technology seeks a Project Manager to support one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The role provides support to functional teams from project inception to post-deployment closeout.
LocationVirtual. Must live within 100 miles of Lexington, MA.
ClearanceActive Secret/Top Secret clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Responsibilities- Execute major projects using standard methodology, templates, tools, and framework.
- Define new projects/programs including scoping, sizing, and planning.
- Develop business case, charter, project plan, communications plan, and requirements metrics.
- Track project tasks and progress; report delays, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, developers, QA, and stakeholders from scope to implementation.
- Manage scope, schedule, risks, issues, and changes.
- Lead project kick‑off and close‑out meetings; document agendas and action items.
- Provide status reporting to stakeholders and senior management.
- Partner with technical leads to work with vendor PMs and procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and infrastructure requirements.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and project management methodologies.
- U.S. citizen with valid employment authorization.
- Active Secret or higher clearance (Aquila will sponsor clearance).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in application programming, database and system design; planning; program/project management; change management; budgeting; project timelines; issue resolution; multi‑year program management; POA&M; PLM; PMBOK; status reporting; resource planning; waterfall methodology; cross‑functional teams; software; cloud implementations;
Service Now. - Deep knowledge of PMBOK, Waterfall, and Agile Scrum.
- Experience delivering cloud implementations (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
- Strong business acumen, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to undergo comprehensive background investigation and maintain security clearance.
- PMP Certification.
- ITIL Foundations and/or Certification.
- PTO – 15 days (vacation/sick) 10 paid holidays – 4 floating holidays prorated based on hire date.
- 12 hours of paid volunteer work.
- 1 week of paid maternity/paternity leave after 1 year of full‑time employment.
- Tuition & Training Reimbursement – $5K annually.
- 401(k) with 50% match up to 6% starting 90 days after hire.
- Cell phone & internet reimbursement up to $150 monthly.
- BYOD allowance up to $1,500 after 90 days, renewable every 3 years.
