Research Scientist
Lead safety assessment of novel oligonucleotide therapeutics for rare diseases within Wave's Preclinical and Clinical Development Sciences team.
Responsibilities:design and critically evaluate exploratory and GLP toxicology studies, develop preclinical strategies, collaborate across functions including CMC, Regulatory, and Discovery Sciences, and provide risk assessments for program teams. Lead investigations into mechanisms of toxicity and communicate impact on regulatory strategies.
Requirements:PhD or DVM in biology, toxicology, or related field; 7+ years of preclinical safety assessment experience, preferably with regulatory submissions and interactions; expertise in safety pharmacology, investigative toxicology, and GLP compliance; experience with drugs targeting hepatic, renal, muscular, or CNS disorders.
Preferred:board certification in toxicology.
High Value:focus on oligonucleotide modalities (RNAi, editing), therapeutic areas including rare diseases, and regulatory toxicology expertise.
Work Setup:based in Lexington, MA, with potential for travel.
