The Security Services Department's overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory's mission of development of game‑changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, the department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions to protect facilities against vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage;
and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.
Serve as the focal point for all local remote operations to include the Flight Test Facility, Lincoln Space Surveillance Complex, Antenna Test Range, Autonomous Systems Development Facility, and STRIVE Center Operations. Directly and indirectly support security requirements such as access control, industrial security functions, open storage area construction/modifications, and operations planning. Assist with development of plans, modifications, or operations at local (MA or NH) or field and test sites (outside MA and NH), including support to remote field‑testing and site construction projects.
You will collaborate with a team of security professionals to solve complex security problems across the following industrial security areas:
- Security Management: manage operations at local and remote site security across all security disciplines to include unclassified, collateral and compartmented programs.
- Audit & Compliance: conduct self‑inspections and inventories, developing and managing corrective action plans.
- Physical Security: oversee facility access control, construction and renovation, drafting and implementing construction security plans.
- Materials Control & Accountability: manage creation, movement and destruction of classified material and digital media.
- Personnel Security: facilitate indoctrinations and debriefings, personnel file maintenance, manage reporting requirements, incoming and outgoing external visits.
- Security Education, Training and Awareness: conduct annual training, facility access training, Operations Security (OPSEC) awareness.
- Risk Management:
investigate and document security incidents, develop and manage corrective actions. - Emergency Action Planning: ensure compliance with operational security and emergency action plans.

To work with MITLL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements.
Must possess and maintain a Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
The laboratory values experiences from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations. The most successful candidates will have the following skills and qualifications.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Security, Criminal Justice, Business Management or related field. - Security Management experience: 5‑7 years of security administration and project management experience within DoD Industrial Security or other government security programs.
- Knowledge and application of physical security systems and procedures as defined by the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) guidelines.
