Base pay: $26.00/hr - $31.00/hr
SchedulePart‑time, 20 hours per week with flexible days and times.
Responsibilities- Teach a variety of fitness and aquatic classes at appropriate levels of ability and intensity, assessing the needs and capabilities of all class participants and teaching exercises in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assess the needs and capabilities of individuals and devise personal exercise programs according to individual needs and level of fitness.
- Instruct individuals on the correct method and use of fitness equipment.
- Modify or devise new health and fitness programs in tandem with the Director of Fitness and Recreation.
- Assist with general recreational and resident engagement programs, such as social events, group activities, and other wellness‑related offerings.
- Act as Pool Monitor, ensuring well‑being and pool safety of swimmers by following all emergency rescue policies and procedures, monitoring for compliance with pool rules and health regulations, and maintaining a neat and safe pool area.
- Open/Close pool per protocols and check pool chemicals as scheduled.
- Provide personal training to residents.
- Maintain fitness equipment and fitness spaces to maximize residents’ safety daily; report all equipment/environment issues in a timely manner.
- Clean and sanitize fitness equipment daily.
- Track and record resident attendance at fitness programs.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Fitness and Recreation.
- Communicate resident issues/concerns to the Director of Fitness and Recreation.
- Maintain current Fitness, Water Safety and CPR certification.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Current Personal Training Certification from a nationally accredited organization (e.g., NSCA, ACSM, NASM or similar).
- CPR certification.
- Water Safety Certification (provided by Brookhaven).
- Experience in a fitness instructor role, preferably in an elder‑care setting.
