We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 3rd Year Medical Resident Physician to join our High Rock Internal Medicine in Lexington, NC. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment. The resident will work closely with an experienced family physician to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, manage a variety of medical conditions, and participate in the overall operation of the practice.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to be mentored and prepared to take an ownership stake in the business. This position is ideal for someone who aspires to become a business partner and potentially take over as the owner, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare in a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. - Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. - Patient
Education:
Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care. - Clinical Procedures:
Perform minor clinical procedures under supervision, such as suturing, wound care, and administering injections. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. - Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff. - Professional Development:
Participate in educational activities, including case discussions, journal clubs, and continuing medical education (CME) opportunities. - Compliance:
Adhere to all practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Currently enrolled in the 3rd year of an accredited medical residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. - Licensure:
Valid medical license or eligibility to obtain one in the state of practice. - Skills:
Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. - Attributes:
Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, lift, reach, bend, and stoop.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
- Requires frequent verbal and written communication.
